Keyword Articles, Webcopy, SEO Articles - What Are They, And How Do They Benefit You
This Article Written by Michelle L Devon
So you want to know what keyword density and SEO are? Yeah, so did I when I first started building my web presence. Everywhere I looked, they said, “You have to have good keyword density. SEO is critical to Google and Yahoo! search engine and directory placement. Articles, articles, articles…†What? Articles? What does that have to do with keyword density and SEO? Glad you asked! The best way to get good search engine and directory placement for your website is to have valuable content on your site. What is valuable content? Well, most people use web copy to provide this content. Now, this web copy can definitely be the description of your site, your services, etc., but one valuable resource for web copy is the use of informational articles. The more content and articles you have, the more keywords you can use, and the more likely your site will be indexed under a variety of different keywords and phrases. I’m not really big on the technical end of how it all works, and I’m not sure anyone, including Google, knows exactly how Google determines who gets placed where by what keywords, but here is what I do know: articles and REAL content information with proper keywords makes all the difference to your site’s ranking and placement. But not just any old article will do the trick! This is one misconception I’ve seen among people who have hired me to write keyword articles for them. Many think that just making sure I use the keywords they have given me as many times as possible will increase their rankings, and that’s all there is to it. It might be if the website is only using ONE keyword or keyword phrase, and the article contains no other index-able words, but most companies don’t have just one product or just one service, and focusing on just one keyword or one phrase will not do the trick for any other search terms a user might use to find the site. Additionally, using too many of the same keywords can cause some indexers to reject the keyword completely, considered keyword stuffing, not to mention the fact that the article will not read well, and that reflects poorly on your site. Plus, keyword density is determined by scanning index-able words and calculating how many time your keywords appears among those index-able words. There is truly an art to SEO and keyword density that should be learned. Even words you do not put in your alt or meta tags but that appear repeatedly on your page will be used to index your site, sometimes whether you want them to be used or not! Making sure your content has properly optimized keyword density for your site is crucial. While you can indeed find free articles on the web to use as content for your site, and I definitely don’t discourage this, be sure to check the author’s suggested keywords and make sure that they are relevant to the keywords you will be using on your site. Just throwing up a series of articles that aren’t related to your site will do little to increase your rankings and site placement, and definitely won't bring TARGETED traffic to your pages. It is, after all, targeted traffic that converts to sales or ad clicks - and that is what makes you money! If you really want to make sure your site has good keyword density and proper SEO, you might want to consider hiring an article writer to provide unique keyword articles for your product, service, or website. These services are usually relatively inexpensive and you can be assured good keyword density for your site and /or your products or services.
